Its been ages since my last post, Disney + Family + Top Secret Stuff = "no time to draw for blog". So here are some oldies but goodies, that I wish would have gone some where.. Owell....Oh and hopefully I'll post more stuff soon. Some of these I posted before....but I couldn't just post the one lonely guy.

So I didn't know this project was announced but I guess it is so I thought I would share this piece. Not my favorite and I didn't have a lot of time to glitz it up. But then again as artists are we ever satisfied with anything we do?!

Oh and I should say it's a game I did some freelance for.

So I got exciting news today for me and my family. Which is we are heading out to Austin, Texas for my new job with Disney's - Junction Point Studios. I can't wait!!

They just released Epic Mickey and it looks like a blast to play. I have to wait for Christmas for my copy but I hear it's a tone of fun. I'll be working for them as a character concept artist which is going to be amazing!

There is so much history with Disney characters and any who knows me knows i'm a huge fan os disney! Even at this years E3 I was telling my buddy Josh it would be cool to work on this game, who knew a few months later I would be working for the studio. It's a huge blessing for me and my family so ya pretty exciting stuff!

If you haven't checked out the game do so...so I can send my kids to college some day!

So I was watching the Warren Spector's PAX key note and he mentioned something I had know idea about, I guess i've been living under a rock for the last 6 months working from home instead of in a studio. But the issue of first amendment rights concerning video games really concerns me. I may not be for ultra violent video games but when some one starts to tread on those freedoms of speech it's only a matter of time before they want more blood and not in HD 1080p pixel format. Back In Action

So I've been pretty busy over the last two weeks, my wife gave birth to our second child. It's been a roller coaster in our house just getting used the new adjustment but a blast at the same time!! So the next coming weeks will be pretty busy for me just catching up with work and all, hopefully i'll get to post some work! In the mean time here is a picture of my new daughter.

I always seem have a million things going on...but i realized i needed to get back to basics and do more sketching exercises to keep from getting stale as an artist! A lot of the work i've been doing has been product design which you really can't do anything to dynamic...so it feels great to do these! If you have thoughts or crits feel free to share!

Hello world, I've added a bunch of work to the site. In my line of work I've done a lot of pitch pieces to help sell ideas that more times than not never become anything. Therefore i've never been able to show the work incase one day it does become something, but all in all I decided to post a bunch of it anyway and wait for that faithful day when I get told to take it all down. So enjoy the stuff I felt comfortable showing.

Project Magnet Fail

These were done for another project that UD wanted to do, with the craze of Bakugan, UD wanted their own magnet toy to take a piece of the action. But like most UD plans there was no realistic timeframe to put together the concept together, not to mention I hate copy-cat products. All though given what we had there were some really good ideas. These show a basic idea of what we were starting to put together before it got rejected - which I honestly feel was for the best.

Here are a couple other quick sketches for the second game idea. The game was also my design. The characters were meant to stand about an 1.5" tall. They had to be very simple in design and they wanted something that looked like a vinyl figure. I think it would have done really well if actually given the chance. Owell!!

MARVEL MYSTERIES - part 1

These designs were done for a kids line of marvel toys/game that Upper Deck wanted do for kids. The first Spider Man design is not mine and was designed by a graphic designer named George (forgot his last name) I was asked to illustrate them for the pitch.

The second batch are mine, it was a very interesting process it's unfortunate the project never went anywhere. It did get a second life for about a day and a half before they told us that there was no money to even make them, but over all it was still fun!

Hello World,

It's been a while. I had my head in the sand for roughly the last nine months trying to get a game wrapped up as well as moving and my wife and i have our first baby. So all in all I've been pretty busy.

Any who just wanted to share a quick sketch I did last night. I painted it in Painter 10 I haven't touched that program in a long time it was a bit frustrating at first but overall a fun experience.

These are some quick concepts of some cartoon kids I did a while ago....Had to do them really quick, turned out pretty decent for the time I had. Rendering wise I went with your standard comic coloring, was fun task to do. I really dig they're jelly buddies!!

So the game is finally out, can't say I supper proud of the work I did on that game, at the time I was very junior and a little to impatient. Granted I still have a lot to learn as an artist but the work I did do I very much enjoyed. There are a lot of very talented artist there and I learned a ton from working with those guys and gals. Any ways I thought I would show some of the work I did on the game seeing how I saw the 3D of my concepts in the cheat manual today.

Hey All,

Been pretty busy these last few months. Behind the scenes I've been working on all sorts of stuff I can't show, but one thing I can show is this bit of portfolio sprucing up that I have been doing... This image is far from complete but thought I would share it anyways. I'm trying a new style and a new genre. Going for more of that quick painterly look with a futuristic Sci-fi fantasy twist. I'm doing a series of 5 characters and a couple environments. I'll post them as I do them. :)

Hong Kong

Hey All

So ya I'm not sure you all know but now I work for a toy company based out of La Jolla and Hong Kong. Just recently I was blessed with the opportunity of traveling to Hong Kong to their offices there.

It was amazing for the first time in like 3 to 4 years I actually felt like an artist again. I think when you work for big companies especially in the game biz you kinda loose your identity you have to draw like everyone else, conform to different practices etc, which is all fine and dandy but after a while you feel like a drone.

So back to my story of Hong Kong, it was so inspiring to be there. I hope and pray that I will be able to go back again....and again.....and again. So anyways here are some pictures from my trip.

Ya so the studio I used to work for closed it's doors. The ironic thing was I quit 3 days before they did. The sad thing is there are a lot of great people there that were let go. I wish them all the best. But having said all that, seeing how the studio and project were canned I can't imagine getting in trouble for posting these.

The project went through many style changes. Here are a few images from one of the many styles we explored.

I created the Ricochet character a little more than five years ago. And over the last nine months I have been trying really hard to actually flush out him and his story. After drawing dozens upon dozens possible hundreds of different versions of Ricochet I feel I have finally nailed down who he is. So I thought I would just share one of the earlier sketches I did of him almost 4 years ago and the one I finished tonight! There is still a little tweaking needed to be done to the story and how I'm going to render it all, but now it's off to the pages!

Hello all who read the Blog, this is my first post in I think 4 months. I've been super busy!! But I think things are calming down a bit and I will have more time to post. So welcome to the new blog.

This sketch is from one of the two books I'm working on. This paticular books is ment for kids around the ages of 8 to 12 but It should be a fun read for adults as well. I've had this story in the back of my mind for a few years and I felt it was finally time to tell it!
